Who Is a Traveler?

Travelers are hired to work in short-term assignments, usually to address critical staffing shortages. The period of assignment typically lasts for 6 to 8 weeks, the longest being 13 weeks. Being a traveling nurse allows a professional to make good money while having the chance to work in different states and places of the professional’s choosing. They can choose to renew their contract or move to a different assignment once their contract ends. As a medical staffing agency, we recommend to nurses who are interested in this position to have a minimum of 12 months recent acute care clinical experience so they can be comfortable to work in this environment. Pay & Salaries

Making money as a traveler depends on location and need. Availability to work on short notice to address critical staffing shortages or crisis response is guaranteed to always pay better regardless of the state or the city of assignment. You will be paid on a weekly basis. The pay period starts on Sunday midnight and runs through Saturday before midnight.

Housing/ Lodging

Safari Healthcare Associates has worked with different hotel and housing communities to ensure that our travel healthcare professionals have ample accommodation. We understand where you choose to work is important, but we also make sure that where you choose to stay is safe while you are on assignment. They are located within 20 miles radius of your assigned workplace and are located in thriving neighborhoods, the urban settings, or the lakeshore life you’re searching for.

Traveler Licensure Requirement

If this is your first time or if you are considering taking on a travel assignment, be assured that we will facilitate the process for you every step of the way. We provide guidance to obtaining license in the state of your job assignment via endorsement process.
